Vine
Street CILA is located in Decatur, Illinois. Incorporated
as a city in 1836 and named after the War of 1812
naval officer Stephen Decatur, Jr. the unofficial
motto of our wonderful city is that we are the Soybean
Capital of the World.
Vine
Street is located northwest of the heart of the
city. We are wheelchair accessible and can accommodate
eight individuals comfortably. Our backyard is home
to all kinds of wildlife which include deer, raccoons,
opossums, cats, birds, and rabbits that call our
home their home too. We love sitting on our deck
to watch the animals, or to enjoy the sunshine,
have cookouts, or play yard games.
We
also enjoy an array of hobbies which include reading,
listening to music, exercising, collecting motorcycles,
cars and jewelry. We love going into the community
and we especially enjoy visiting numerous landmarks
throughout town which include Millikin University,
the Transfer House, the Decatur Public Library,
Hickory Point Mall, and The Greater Decatur YMCA
just to name a few. Our favorite thing about Decatur
is that this is the first home in Illinois of Abraham
Lincoln and also where Lincoln received his first
endorsement for the president of the United States.
We
participate in programming through Macon Resources,
Inc and A Step Forward. Both day programs provide
an exceptional choice of activities, classes and
work.
