Cornerstone
Home in Monticello, IL, was established in 1988
as the first ICF-DD group home owned by the Alan
G. Ryle Companies in the Champaign area. Some individuals
who moved into the home in 1988 still reside with
us today. This home serves 16 people, both male
and female, with a full variety of functional skills
and support needs. Individuals who reside at Cornerstone
Home are, on average, younger to middle aged and
quite active. You will usually find us out on walks,
at the local parks, going out to eat, to the movies,
shopping, going for drives, or hanging out with
one another playing board games or other activities
at home. We have two day training programs from
which to choose.
Monticello is a small town community with the advantage
of being mid-way between Decatur and Champaign,
IL. The people of Cornerstone, and Monticello in
general, can often be found taking advantage of
the larger town amenities that Champaign and Decatur
have to offer. The University of Illinois in Champaign
provides us with a variety of options. Ask some
of us about our beloved Illini sports! Just outside
Monticello is Allerton Park, a unique property owned
and maintained by the University of Illinois. Allerton
Park is the estate of John Allerton and is known
for it’s beautiful manicured gardens, statuaries,
and natural footpaths and hiking areas.
In addition to taking advantage of local opportunities,
several times each year we enjoy trips to Chicago,
Knight’s Action Water Park in Indiana, and
St. Louis for big city attractions like museums,
shows, and other events.
