Carolyn
Smith House, named in honor of our company’s
founder’s mother, was established in Charleston
in 1988. This home serves 16 ambulatory males and
females who have a wide variety of capabilities.
Carolyn Smith House is located adjacent to the Charleston
Community Pool, and within several blocks of the
Charleston Square, which has restaurants, stores
and a movie theater. We enjoy all of these activities.
Carolyn Smith House in located within a mile of
Alpha Community House and Gaylord Tull House, and
the three homes participate in a variety of shared
activities. We often find ourselves visiting our
friends at these other group homes. We have a large
deck where we enjoy playing cards, grilling out
or just chatting. In our large back yard we have
a garden which gives us plenty of good summer vegetables.
We have the choice of four day program/work site,
and we are able to chose the worksite that best
fits our likes and needs.
